Sideshow Alley – Event Management Plan Introduction: Event management involves creation and development of events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, formal parties, concerts or conventions. It includes identifying the target audience, planning the event concept, organising the logistics and coordinating the technical aspects prior to the event day. The process of coordinating the event is called event planning. It involves budgeting, timing, selecting the venue, obtaining necessary permission, arranging entertainments, decorations, catering and contingency plans. Many industries, organisations and groups hold events in order to market themselves, raise money, celebrate achievement or build business relationships.†¦show more content†¦Concept The type of event that will be held on term 3 is a â€Å"mini† school carnival. The main purpose of this event is to organise a successful activity for the students. The event will attract approximately 150 people including students and staffs. The main facilities and equi pment needed to stage the event are the following: †¢ Chairs, tables, sound system, dividing walls, etc. This event is important to the school community as it is the first time that it will happen for many years. Themes The theme chosen to promote the event is carnival or a mini circus. This event will give the attendees the â€Å"fresh† feeling and avoid that â€Å"same old† feeling. It will also be a free dress day with gold coin donation to increase funds raised. If the next year levels choose to hold the event every year, it is recommended to vary the themes. Stakeholders Stakeholders are the ones who will influence the success of the event.
